Dockside Dining At Telegraph Cove

The West Coast atmosphere and vibe at Telegraph Cove Resort is the perfect destination for a delicious taste of North Vancouver Island dining.

When you find yourself in picturesque Telegraph Cove, you’ll want to stop in at The Killer Whale Cafe for lunch or dinner.

The relaxed atmosphere of Telegraph Cove perfectly marries the town with the dining experience. It’s not hard to imagine life 50 years ago in the Cove while you dine. In fact, you can even walk down the hall and see black and white pictures of what it once looked like.

If it’s a nice day, make sure you get a table outside.

The balcony is perfect for unwinding and talking about the highlights of the day. You may spot a seal or a school of fish in the waters below. And you’ll definitely have the background music of native birds flying overhead.

But not to worry if the weather’s not cooperating because a table inside is great too. You can see right into the kitchen as they prepare your food and the laid back feel promotes simple relaxation.

With a diverse menu, it’s easy to select something you’re sure to love. Both Jay and I chose the halibut after sharing a coconut shrimp appetizer. The flavours blended well with west coast life. It’s not pretentious, it’s just good food.

After a few bites, my 12 year old declared, “mom, why does this hamburger taste so much better than the burgers we have at home?” This, my friends, is high praise from my child. He was right too. I don’t know how they do it, but their burgers are hands down better here.

All throughout the meal, the kids were buzzing with stories of the day and laughing as we simply enjoyed a family dinner together.

Killer Whale Cafe offers tasty food in a comfortable, family-friendly setting. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, you will enjoy your experience.

After our excursion with Prince of Whales, our kids climbed the stairs to our Telegraph Cove cottage, while Jay and I popped in to the Pub for a mini date.

This was the perfect way to finish off our afternoon of whale watching. Telegraph Cove’s harbour is such a peaceful place. Boats, families walking the boardwalk and colourful historic cottages all sit amidst the stunning backdrop of the North Island.

It’s easy to see why people come to Telegraph Cove. And even easier when you get to relax on the deck with a cold drink in hand.

It is always worth it to travel North on Vancouver Island, especially during the warmer Summer months.
