Stoney Hill Hiking Trail In The Cowichan Valley

Stoney Hill hike is just long enough to get the blood flowing and short enough to be completed quickly. 20 min to the peak and this stunning view is yours!

I have a few good girlfriends who like the great outdoors. We try and get together once a month for a hour or so of good, quality conversation.

Usually we meet at a coffee shop, but when the weather gets nice, we look for a trail to change things up. Here on Vancouver Island we have some of the greatest hiking trails around and the views are simply spectacular.

Often it’s nice to spend the whole day in the woods hiking, but when you only have an hour you need something short and sweet. Stoney Hill was just the Cowichan hiking trail we were looking for.

At about 2 km in length, the Stoney Hill trail takes just under an hour to hike and offers stunning vistas of the Gulf Islands.

It’s just long enough to get the blood flowing and short enough to be completed quickly. The Stoney Hill trail loop has several flat viewpoints perfect for a picnic lunch, a panoramic photo, or even a marriage proposal.

But for this day, my 3 friends and I enjoyed sweet fellowship.

I’ll be taking my kids this summer so maybe I’ll see you out there!
